Generate or convert PDF documents by processing data in the application with a set of tools for writing or importing text, changing the fonts, colors, and backgrounds, deleting or adding images, reorganizing pages, annotating the files, watermarking, etc.
Wondershare PDF Editor not only allows you to add text, comments, bookmarks, watermarks, or images to your PDF files, but also to create new PDF documents, combine them, and transform PDFs into Word, Excel, PowerPoint, EPUB, or HTML files and vice versa. This comprehensive tool can be further enhanced by adding an OCR plug-in to it, so that you can convert scanned text into editable text in a snap.
As far as its editing features go, PDF Editor includes all the basic and some nice extra features. You can delete, extract, insert, and rotate the pages of your PDFs; add watermarks and stamps; bookmark your PDF document for easier navigation; add links to other documents or a Web page; add comments and notes, etc. You may also need to add new text and/or images to an existing PDF file – Wondershare PDF Editor will also allow you to do that, but the lack of support for reflowable content seriously limits this interesting feature. You can add letters and words to an existing line, but the text won’t wrap up and it will overflow the right margin. You cannot add extra blank lines between paragraphs or at the beginning of a page, which dwindles the possibilities of inserting images or new paragraphs in it. You may add an image in a free space, just like you add a sticky note or a comment balloon, but if any of those are too big they will cover whatever is underneath.
Though overall a fine and intuitive editor, the program offers other less-constrained functionality, such as its conversion capabilities. This feature offers a high level of flexibility, allowing you to export your PDF documents as MS Office, EPUB, HTML, text, and image files. You will enjoy a similar level of flexibility when creating new PDF files – the program will let you combine in a new PDF document files in various formats, as long as they belong to the list of supported types. (Use the program’s conversion capabilities wisely and imaginatively and you will find a way around the “reflowable text” issue.)
There are other features that are also worth mentioning, such as the PDF form editor and the tools to protection your PDFs. The former will let you create, edit, or modify new or existing PDF forms, complete with check boxes, text fields, radio buttons, list boxes, and combo boxes. The latter will protect your document by adding open passwords, permissions, and digital signatures to encrypt and lock your document from unauthorized users.
All in all, this is a very interesting tool, and definitely worth trying. You will find it a comprehensive application with an easy-to-navigate and attractive interface, and with much more functionality than what the program’s name entails.
